Colleen Moore

Director, Peace With Justice

Colleen Moore is the director of Peace With Justice at the General Board of Church and Society. In her position, she is responsible for developing and managing the agency’s legislative and policy advocacy in support of peace and justice. She works in coalition with United Methodist faith and secular coalitions to advance GBCS strategic priorities on peacebuilding, conflict resolution, nonproliferation and disarmament, and multilateralism.

Prior to joining GBCS staff, Colleen served as Advocacy Director at Women Cross DMZ, and she recently consulted with several organizations on policy and advocacy, including the American Friends Service Committee and Quincy Institute. She previously held roles at Global Zero, Beyond the Bomb, Win Without War, and Seeds of Peace.

“I truly believe that war is incompatible with Christian teachings and that we must prioritize diplomacy and collaboration over weapons of war,” Colleen said. “Working with Church and Society has allowed me to live my values of pursuing peace, disrupting conditions and systems that perpetuate injustice, and addressing the root causes of conflict.”

Colleen holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and International Relations from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from American University’s School of International Service.

In her free time, Colleen loves to travel, spend time with her family and friends, read, go to yoga classes, and snuggle with her cat.
