Korea Peace Festival and Vigil

The United Methodist Korea Peace Table working with other faith and secular peace organizations will be holding a Korea Peace Festival and Vigil July 26-28 in Washington, D.C.

On April 27, 2018, the historic Inter-Korean Summit was held at Panmunjom on the South Korean side of the Joint Security Area between Moon Jae In (president of South Korea) and Kim Jung Un (chairman of North Korea.)

It was the first time since 1953 that a North Korean leader entered South Korea. The Panmunjom Declaration made at the end of the summit stated that the leaders of North and South Korea will work to end the Korean War, begin a new era of peace, reconciliation and improvements to inter-Korean relations; giving hope for permanent peace on the peninsula.

The United Methodist Korea Peace Table, working with other faith and secular peace organizations, will be holding a Korea Peace Festival and Vigil in Washington, D.C. July 26-28, 2018, to show support for the Panmunjom Declaration and in response to the US-North Korea Summit scheduled for June 12, 2018, in Singapore.
