Meet The Church and Society Staff

GBCS continues the legacy of Christian witness and action that began over 250 years ago.

Meet GBCS Staff
With a mandate from the United Methodist Church, GBCS Staff work on your behalf to advocate for justice on critical social issues.

The General Board of Church and Society of the United Methodist Church is called to seek the implementation of the Social Principles and other policy statements of the General Conference on Christian social concerns. The board relates the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the church, to communities and to the world in which they live, bringing the whole of human life into conformity with the will of God and showing that reconciliation involves personal, social and civic righteousness. (BOD, ¶1003).

To achieve our mandate in 2022 and beyond, I’m very pleased to announce that we have built a strong, diverse and professional team of advisors, leaders, program activists, educators, communicators, administrators and finance staff. Men and women of faith who believe in the essence of our promise to connect faith with life, church with society and peace with justice.

As we work in tandem with the United Methodist Church, we apply our gifts, skills, experience and unwavering commitment to educate people about our social principles; to organize communities to create positive social change; and to advocate with a worldwide network of decision makers for the transformation of the world.

The journey that began with our founder John Wesley over 250 years ago, continues at an even greater pace as we fulfill our mission of Living Faith, Seeking Justice and Pursuing Peace. May God continue to bless our efforts and actions.
