Take Action: Tell Your Senators to Address the Hunger Crisis in the United States

Invitation to Action

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is illuminating pre-existing injustices impacting our communities. The public health crisis and the unfolding economic crisis have resulted in unprecedented levels of unemployment and a growing crisis of hunger across the United States.

As United Methodists, we “set for ourselves, our congregations, institutions, and agencies no lesser goals than the repentance for the existence of human hunger and increased commitment to end world hunger and poverty.” (Book of Resolutions: 4051 The United Methodist Church, Food, Justice, and World Hunger) And even as our churches are stepping up to provide emergency food assistance, the scale of the crisis requires a strong response by the federal government.

Contact your Senators today and urge them to support expanded nutrition assistance in the next pandemic relief legislation.
