SAVE THE DATE: Seminar Forum: Peace on the Korean Peninsula
Church and Society invites you to our 2017 Seminar Forum: Peace on the Korean Peninsula. The Forum will be held November 13-15, 2017 in the United Methodist Building in Washington D.C.
For he is our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one and has broken down the dividing wall, that is, the hostility between us.Ephesians 2:14
Headlines of unrest on the Korean peninsula have taken over the front page of our papers. Breaking news banners flash across our TV screens.
Intercontinental ballistic missiles
Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD)
It all seems recent. But the unrest, division and absence of peace has been the reality on the peninsula for decades.
Church and Society invites you to our 2017 Seminar Forum: Peace on the Korean Peninsula.
It will be an opportunity for people of faith (both clergy and laity) to engage with Resolution 6135, “Korea: Peace, Justice, and Reunification”.
Participants will hear from experts on nuclear security, foreign policy and faithful advocacy among other topics. We will worship and pray together. There will also be time for networking with other advocates. And we’ve set aside time on the last day for you to visit with your elected officials’ offices.
The Peace on the Korean Peninsula Forum will be held November 13-15, 2017 in the United Methodist Building in Washington D.C. on Capitol Hill.
Registration for this event will open early September. Registration is $200 per person which includes housing (shared room), lunch and registration fees.
If you do not need housing, registration is $75.
We encourage you to participate with another person from you church/community and a 15 percent discount is offered if you do!
